Patriot Day
A decade and a half ago the towers fell Putting many a family in hell. Dust, rubble and dedication All that remained after the devastation. Firemen, police and volunteers Continued to search though blinded by tears. A nation united The flame of Patriotism reignited. Donations and support beyond compare. Our flag could be seen almost everywhere. Today, “Ground Zero” has reconstructed, Hard to tell that there was massive destruction. The memorial has been finished, But, the multitude of flags has slowly diminished. “We will never forget”, A motto we remember yet. September 11th a day to remember, But to many it’s just a day in September. Although many a family were affected, There are other heroes who might feel dejected. Remember not all heroes wear uniforms. But all men can be heroes when asked to perform. All our countries heroes have fought To maintain the freedoms out forefathers sought. So this September eleven, Let us remember the heroes in heaven. Let us remember all that has been given. Let us remember that, not all can be forgiven. So, this September Once more, let us remember. Hoist your flag and let it waive. Let us honor, those ones so brave. Ellen Hampton Aux 12128
